The start of deliveries of the new, more efficient charging solution supports Kempower's product offering and maintains the company's position among the most competitive companies in the industry. The new solution enables, for example, the simultaneous charging of passenger cars and trucks, which will support the electrification of heavy transport. Kempower's main competitor in Europe has recently launched a somewhat similar system, but we feel Kempower stands out in the market due to its reliability, among other things.
Deliveries of the new charging system begin
On Tuesday, Kempower announced that it will start delivering the MORE Power, MORE Plugs charging solution, launched in April, from its European factories. The solution enables the construction of larger and more efficient charging fields cost-effectively. In addition, the solution enables efficient charging of trucks in the same charging field as passenger cars, e.g., in connection with service stations. North American deliveries are scheduled to start shortly after the launch in Europe.
Kempower is progressing at the cutting edge of the industry
According to the company release, with MORE Power, Kempower becomes the first DC fast charging manufacturer ready to ship 1.2 megawatts of dynamic charging power. During spring 2025, competitor Alpitronic launched its own 1.0-megawatt charging solution with 8 plugs dynamically distributing power. In our view, there is no major technical difference on paper between the competitor's and Kempower's solution, although reliability is also of great importance in the industry, which is difficult to deduce from sales brochures. Kempower’s C-series charging system has maintained the top position throughout the first half of 2025 on Monta's listing, which provides reliability statistics for fast chargers, and we believe this indicates that Kempower’s equipment is more reliable than its competitors. We see Kempower as one of the most competitive companies in the industry, although a few top competitors, like Alpitronic, can challenge it with, for example, pricing and somewhat similar features.
The importance of heavy transport is growing in the industry
Kempower's charging solutions have been designed with heavy transport in mind since the company was founded in cooperation with heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers, even though the majority of growth has so far come from charging passenger cars. In Q1'25, the share of electric vehicles in new registered buses in Europe was already 20% (Q1’24: 13%), 3.5% of trucks (Q1’24: 2.0%) and 8.7% (5.7%) of vans. The statistics indicate a rapid rate of change in the market. Electric powertrains are still rare in long-distance trucks, but megawatt-class charging solutions are gradually making the adoption of such solutions more attractive. Based on 2023 CMD materials, commercial vehicles accounted for some 30% of Kempower's revenue, and Kempower then set a target to increase the share to 50% by 2030.
Kempower is active in the industrial sector. The company is a developer of charging solutions and services with a focus on the automotive sector. The range mainly includes charging posts, stations, sockets, and associated electronic equipment. In addition to the main business, various aftermarket services and technical support are offered. The largest operations are in the Nordic countries and Europe.
